The Philippines has been a target of terrorists, suicide bombers and those with similar ordeals. There have been several news that in the countryside, there are several terrorist factions situated and ready to combat and cripple the government anytime. I just do not understand why they have to risk other people’s lives just to have their point understood. Usually, I would just write or talk to influential people to have my voice heard. I think the reason behind those attacks has something to do with not being heard. I think their ideas were not taken in by the general public. But why waste people’s lives? It just doesn’t make any sense at all.

I just received an SMS message from a good friend of mine (and a reliable source I may say) that some crazy ass lunatic will be bombing the metro tomorrow at around 11AM Philippine time. Now, I really do not know and I honestly do not want this to happen, but if it does, it will surely take the public eye away from the current political issue that is hounding the country – ZTE multi-million dollar deal. I’m starting to look at a political issue now.

OK, before I turn into a detective of some sort, I have to end this now. To my fellow Filipino people, take care and keep a watchful eye. You may never notice this, but you might be talking to a suicide bomber. Be cautious and more importantly, be safe.

(Yawn.)

OK. Another typical day at the office.

I just arrived and here I am making my cup of favorite coffee (while reading the daily paper..and typing this one of course). Traffic didn’t suck that much today even if its a Friday which I find pretty unusual. I was at Arena awhile ago doing my daily routine. I had a great achievement today though, I just noticed that I lost 3 lbs. You see, work can be really stressful and one of the techniques I utilized before to handle stress was to eat and eat and get bloated for the whole day and then slack it all off before going to sleep. But this time, I decided to exercise. Wow. What a surprise.

Back to reading the paper. Philippines’ politics has gone totally mad once again. That ZTE deal that the government allegedly scammed has been a major impact at least for me. Why? Because I can’t even watch my favorite cartoons. They aired the initial trial of star witness Mr. Lozada. That sucked. On my opinion, those who did those suspicious crap at the multi-million dollar deal has to pay. One thing has to be proven though – the truth. But the truth is, the reality is being covered by one of the top politicians of the country. But I’m still hoping for the best because if this goes on, I can’t watch my show!

Some people may say, ‘why do we give a damn? it’s US anyway. And they’re thousands of miles away from us.’ Wrong. That’s why we should give a damn, because it is the United States of America – a big name in the world. The impact has been huge especially here in Asia.

Philippines has been one of the steady allies of the US for quite some time now and the impact on us is big enough to make it to the headlines. The elected president will soon spell the fortune of the countries that has something to do with the United States, like Philippines for that matter.

Either way, everyone should learn how to make a stand and not just sit there and wait for something to happen. We may not be able to vote for them but in our own little way, we can even promote them. There are a lot of means online to do that. Point is, as a good friend of mine would say, “You should stand up for something; else, you’ll fall for everything.”
